StockRail is a tubular rail section geared for applications involving livestock – as an example
for fencing-in cattle, horses, sheep, etc. Once known as CattleRail, the StockRail section looks similar to a UniRail section with two flat surfaces and two highly curved surfaces. The difference between the two sections lies in the transition between the flat and curved surfaces.
The UniRail flat-to-curve transition is sharper whereas
the StockRail flat-to-curve transition is more gradual and ‘softer’. The effect of this is to reduce ‘bruising’ of livestock in pen-type situations and is preferred by many livestock owners. Though the StockRail section fills a role in livestock applications it, like UniRail, can be used in a host of other end-uses.
Application areas:
- Livestock holding yard/pen and feedlot applications, signage, fencing, barrier rails,
gates and transport.
StockRail is manufactured and tested to meet the requirements of the following specifications:
- AS 1163 – Structural steel hollow sections.
